Name change…but this time it’s official
Changing your name is such an odd thing. I’ve had the name Keela Harris since I was born. As I come up on my 25th birthday, I can’t help but acknowledge that this will be the first birthday that I celebrate as Keela Lupton! Since Bryan and I were living in Singapore and doing some international travel for the first couple of months of marriage, now that we are staying in the same spot for a while, I am finally able to legally change my name. Today we went down to social security to make the name change final. I must admit, when the woman behind the counter asked me….”How would you like your new name to appear on your new social security card?” I wanted to say so many things….
“Keela supercalafragilisticexpialidocious Lupton”
“Keela Kowabunga Lupton”
Bryan and I even joked about combining our last names….
“Bryan and Keela Harrupton”
“Bryan and Keela Lupis”
“Bryan and Keela Larris”
And the list goes on and on……
So the name that ended up on my social security card you ask???
Drumroll please……
Keela Lupton of course! Although, I must say that it was fun to play around with my choices….I am so honored to take on my new husband’s name!
