Celebrating the 4th in our new home and our Nation’s Capitol
Bryan and I hit the road to head out to our new home in D.C.—A mere 1,800 miles later…we’ve arrived! We’ve been traveling quite a bit lately. We sat down to look at where our traveling has taken us since May and we felt both blessed and a little pooped just thinking about it—Singapore, India, Colorado, New Jersey, back to Colorado, and a 3 day road trip out to Washington, D.C. So honestly, now that we’ve reached our final destination it feels pretty good to know we will be here for a while. Bryan and I decided that we were going to set up shop…for the most part upon arrival and after we’d found our apartment—so we didn’t pack up a trailer. We only took one car, The Galant. After Bryan’s assessment of what we could fit in the car, he’d determined that we could each bring 2 suitcases and 3 boxes. I ended up bringing 5 boxes and 3 suitcases—-hey a girl needs some things, right?
After arriving in DC—we celebrated America’s Independence by heading over to the National Mall and catching a free concert (Reba McEntire, Gladys Knight, David Archuleta and Darius Rucker…any Hootie fans?) and fireworks show between The Washington Monument and The Capitol!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!
Love,
Keela
PS-Kevin, Bryan’s younger brother, is going to Haiti this week with a mission organization called Soles4Souls to hand out shoes to those in need. Good luck, Kev….we are so proud of you!
