Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

“Congratulations!
Today is your day,
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!”
-Dr. Seuss-

I love children’s books…especially Dr. Seuss books…he has a way of capturing the “stuff” of life with imaginative rhyme and colorful pictures and characters.  I love the book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!….this book captures life and its challenges.  I am thinking of this book today as I think of the work it has taken to complete our degrees and as we look ahead to the future.  For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been celebrating.  We are celebrating the end of the semester and our graduate degrees …..we’ve also been saying goodbyes to the dear friends we’ve made.  Bryan walked at graduation on May 8th here in Singapore and has officially earned two Master’s degrees from Columbia University and the National University of Singapore.  His degrees are in International Affairs and Public Policy.  Although we couldn’t make the flight back to my graduation in Colorado, I also completed my program on the 8th of May.  My thesis is done and I have officially graduated from Regis University with my Master’s degree in Education.   We are so grateful for our friends and family—thank you for all of your support and love….we couldn’t have made it this far without you!  And when I do think of the future I can’t help but think of this line from Oh, the Places You’ll Go!….

“Will you succeed? Yes, you will indeed. (98 3/4% guaranteed.)”
