Cricket At College Green

Last weekend Keela and I went back to College Green (Where I lived last semester) and I played in the first big cricket match of the year.  I had never played cricket before, but I figured my baseball skills would sort of translate.

We had about 20 players and most of them were from South Asian countries like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc.  Also represented were Norway, Germany, USA, Kyrgyzstan, Ireland and Australia.

The game was a lot of fun, and my team went on to win both matches that we played.  Not bad for a bunch of amateurs.  Though the rules were a little tricky, and the bat is weird and flat like a board, I pretty much like playing anything were you can run around and then win at then end; so I am hereby endorsing cricket as a worthwhile activity.  Congratulations, cricket, you’ve really come a long way.
